Marginal fail?

If you scored a marginal fail (between 45% and 49%) last time it is likely that you failed because of poor exam technique.

Very low mark? 

If you scored a very low mark (perhaps under 25%) last time then it is more likely that your mark is due to lack of knowledge. Did you struggle to come up with answers? It’s more likely to be a lack of knowledge if you felt that you were either guessing answers or had struggled to come up with ideas. Did you run out of time? It’s more likely to be poor exam technique if you ran out of time, perhaps missing out whole questions or parts of questions or not finishing the exam
